Profile
Sudeep Thapa is a senior highway and transportation engineer and technical leader with over twelve years in detailed engineering survey, geometric and pavement design, transport planning, construction supervision, contract administration and the technical management of road and transport infrastructure.
His work covers highway geometric design, flexible and rigid pavement design, traffic studies and demand analysis, road inventory and pavement condition assessment, highway drainage and hydrological studies, economic analysis and alignment optimisation, cost estimation, tender documentation and Detailed Project Reports. He works to Nepal Road Standard and Department of Roads guidelines, supported by AASHTO and IRC references.
He has delivered assignments across national highways, strategic corridors, rural road networks, municipal transport master plans and transport terminals. On the Kathmandu–Terai/Madhesh Fast Track under the Nepal Army he has served as Highway Engineer on both the client and the contractor side, including the tunnel works package.
His international exposure includes postgraduate study at AIT Thailand, service on the scientific committee of the Asian Transportation Research Centre (ATRANS) in Bangkok, and a research internship on sustainable transportation at Hokkaido University, Japan.
